NAMIBIA – Rising beyond expectations

At the southern edge of the African continent sits its rising star. Namibia’s stable, vibrant and mineral rich economy is pulsating with opportunity thanks to a promising upstream oil and gas industry as well as its aspirations to become a global hub for green hydrogen.

Since its independence, Namibia’s progress has moved in quantum leaps. Built on agriculture, fishing, and a prolific mining portfolio, the country boasts one of the most promising economies in Africa. Additionally, Namibia’s geographical po- sition and vast coastline have made it a springboard for trade with its landlocked neighbours.

The Namibian economy is steadily recovering despite the burdens of global economic shocks. This recovery is happening thanks to its stable democracy, sound economic management, and targeted action plans particularly in the energy sector.

Namibia’s desert landscape and abundance of solar and wind have placed green hydrogen production as a promising pillar of its future economy. As the world pursues net zero, Namibia’s onshore and offshore minerals – commodities of the future – have roused international interests. Additionally, the Namibian government is championing the Blue Economy and developing policies to protect its most precious resources.
